§ 10.2. Adoption of state uniform construction code.

  • Pursuant to R.S. 40:1730.21 et seq., the following codes are hereby adopted as the regulations governing the construction of buildings and other structures in Gramercy, Louisiana. Unless specified, all standards contained in a referenced code are adopted and included for purposes of this ordinance. Unless referenced by name or letter designation, no appendix or appendices to a code is adopted.

    (a)

    International Building Code (IBC), 2012 Edition, not including chapter 1, Administration, chapter 11, Accessibility, chapter 27, Electrical and chapter 29, Plumbing Systems, including any state amendments referenced in L.A.C. 55:VI:301.

    (b)

    International Existing Building Code (IEBC), 2012 Edition, not including chapter 1, Administration, including any state amendments referenced in L.A.C. 55:VI:301.

    (c)

    International Residential Code (IRC), 2012 Edition, not including Parts I - Administrative, V - Mechanical, VII - Plumbing and VIII - Electrical, including any state amendments referenced in L.A.C. 55:VI:301. The enforcement of these standards shall be mandatory only with respect to new construction, reconstruction, additions to homes previously built to the International Residential Code, and extensive alterations.

    (d)

    International Mechanical Code (IMC), 2012 Edition, including any state amendments referenced in L.A.C. 55:VI:301. Also included for regulation, the Louisiana One- and Two-Family Supplement to the 2006 International Mechanical Code, including any state amendments referenced in L.A.C. 55:VI:301.

    (e)

    Louisiana State Plumbing Code (Part XIV - Plumbing of the State Sanitary Code) as amended by the state health officer acting through the office of public health of the department of health and hospitals. Nothing in this part shall be construed so as to prevent the state health officer for enforcing Part XIV - Plumbing of the State Sanitary Code, the enforcement of which is his statutory and regulatory responsibility.

    (f)

    International Fuel Gas Code (IFCG), 2012 Edition, including any state amendments referenced in L.A.C. 55:VI:301.

    (g)

    National Electrical Code (NEC), 2011 Edition, including any state amendments referenced in L.A.C. 55:VI:301.
