§ 70-2. Speed restrictions.

  • (a)

    Except as otherwise provided by state law, it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle upon any public highway, street or roadway in this town at a greater speed than is reasonable and proper, having regard to the traffic and use of the way, or so as to endanger the life or limb or injure the property of any person.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a vehicle on any street, roadway or highway in this town at a speed in excess of 25 miles per hour, except where otherwise posted, in which event the posted limits shall be observed.

    (c)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a vehicle on the Airline Highway or on that portion of North Airline Avenue which is north of a point 1,500 feet north of East Sixth Street at a speed in excess of 40 miles per hour.
